Hi! I'm Susan Shifman, an experienced provider and teacher of TRE®, Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises™. TRE® is a simple movement technique that allows the letting-go of deeply embedded stresses or trauma - along with the pain, tightness, and even emotions that tend to accompany them.

My path to TRE® began in 2001 when I retired from a corporate career in management and executive coaching with a hefty "benefits" package of lingering physical tightness, tension and pain built up over decades of Type-A work habits. In my quest to learn ways of releasing these pent-up stresses, I became a certified personal fitness trainer and then a yoga instructor. (I have always learned best when I've done so with an eye toward helping others.)

2008 brought a profound experience, when I attended for the first time Dr. David Berceli's TRE® Workshop. His simple, easy exercises helped me eliminate stubborn pains that other modalities, while useful, had been unable to touch. What a gift I was given! 

Today I practice, teach, and train others to teach TRE®. The exercises can be learned in a few one-on-one or group sessions, then easily practiced on one's own, without any special equipment. TRE® is a gentle, accessible, affordable technique for anyone with experience along the stress spectrum, from minor, everyday tension build-up to trauma.

In addition to teaching TRE®, Endorphin Soup™, and Reiki, I have created a video, *Exercise Modifications for TRE®*, available in the "store" at treforall.org. I have also co-authored a chapter on "Endorphin Soup™" www.EndorphinSoup.com, in Dr. Berceli's new book, *Shake It off Naturally,* available through Amazon.com.

I am also a Reiki Master, and facilitate individual Reiki sessions.

Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”.

Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy.

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.

A Reiki session can help ease tension and stress and can help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels – physical, mental, and emotional. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is often utilized for one’s personal wellness.
